They smash the steam oculus one and pretty much all others out there also. You want the best, try these suckers, The Reverb G2's. VR has some really really strong points and it also has weak points where games just dont code dedicated for VR first and formost, which always leaves it a bit of a, what it could have been'', potential feeling playing many of these games with VR. Games like DCS, flight sims, you wont look back, NOTHING beats that heads up VR display, nothing, because its just like the real jet and the fly by wire system. Its an amazing experience if you havent tried it, go try it. Second is frame rate, refresh rate, frequency. Without it, the game begins to stutter and slow in any location that puts any demand on the graphics.The best VR always boils down to a couple of main things, for me the first is resolution, and anything less than 4k per eye is pathetic but 8 k per eye is much better but sheeeeeesh do you pay out the nose for that stuff right now, VR is much trickier to master than most folks realise. With it, those graphics options work just fine. Could have left Reflections on Standard, though - the big difference there is between low (where you only get fake reflections that were prebaked into the images) and all the other settings (where you get real ones that show live people and ships).Īll I can say is that the resolution trick makes all the difference on my setup. ![]() So it's worth getting something that both looks good but isn't shaky or that breaks the immersion I pushed textures all the way up because the 3080 has the space to handle that and that is worth it. ![]() It's a great VR game - remarkably so because the VR was added later, because most games that do that mess it up (Subnautica VR is a mess). I know it's a little inconvenient but with three monitors maybe you can make sure that the desktop copy of the graphics always appears on one screen and only have to tinker with the resolution on that. Before I found the desktop resolution trick, I couldn't reliably run more than a mixture of Enhanced and Standard. Turns out I have Textures on Ultra, Post Processing, Animation and Tessellation on High and the others on Enhanced. I don't think the difference between enhanced and high is dramatic for most settings either (but is noticeable). I tried pushing it to Ultra but the performance suffered some and the visual improvements were negligible. I have most of my graphics options on High (a couple on lower settings) and the performance is almost seamless (I sometimes get a brief stutter when leaving a planet's atmosphere). I'm suspicious of most of the tweaks people tout because a) most of the people touting them aren't tech savvy, just repeat things they've heard and don't test them properly and b) many of those tweaks only work with very specific set-ups and often become obsolete as new versions of the game change things. It seems that this greatly reduces the workload of the duplicate copy of the game visuals that NMS sends to that display. Absolutely the best performance boost I achieved was from reducing the resolution on the laptop's own display to 800圆00.
